Hi all, I'm going to tell the story about my laptop and here Acer Travelmate 270 is my first laptop (2001). It's about more than 10 years ago but it still work. In that time, laptop was very expensive and you know it was very heavy, if I'm correct it about more than 3 kg. !!! That was not mobility at all - -' but it made me look cool, yeah. I took it with me everywhere and now it retired. About the spec of this laptop, it came with
- Intel Pentium 4-M 1.6 GHz
- Display 14.1" 1024x768
- Ram 256MB DDR
- HDD 20GB
- Optical disc drive (CD or DVD)
- 3 USB ports
- Windows XP SP1
I used it for 7 years and it made me love Acer a lot because I never got any problem with this laptop, never went to service center and I always thought my next laptop will be Acer !!!
And it real my second laptop was Acer Travelmate 8204WLMi. Wow this one was very powerful laptop. My mother bought it for me in my birthday (2007). It was very first laptop that come with separate VGA chipset but it was not mobility at all (Again !). It come with
- Intel Core Duo 2.0GHz (Fake core)
- 15.4" LCD 1680x1050, non-glossy
- ATI Mobility Radeon x1600 256MB GDDR 3
- HDD 120 GB
- Ram 2 GB DDR2 Bus 533MHz
- 8x combo DVD+R DL
- 4 USB ports
- Windows XP SP2
This time, Acer broke my heart, I got so many problem with this laptop, it come with 3 years warranty and you know I used to go to the service center for over 20 times in 3 years !!! God !!! Over 20 times, what happen. First time is bluescreen because of the hardware problem and Acer change a new mainboard for me but it was not fixed, it still got bluescreen and when I update the OS (windows update) my laptop will freeze. I got many question is it real windows license? Whatever Acer can't do anything with it and because of this problem I have to go to Acer service center again and again. They tried to change many part to find what wrong with it but it didn't work until the warranty out. This year, I bought a new cpu to upgrade it from Core Duo 2.0GHz to Core 2 Duo 2.33GHz but it wasn't work because the power chip didn't support this cpu so I have to go to pantip to change the power chip. After that I never saw any bluescreen anymore? This is my other question too, is cpu can made bluescreen too? Wow, it was my new knowledge.
Anyways, I grow up and interesting in technology more than before, this time I found many information about the brand, hardware, and feedback. Finally this part summer, I decided to buy a new laptop that is Alienware M17X R3 from Dell so I don't have to say anything much about this monster. It come with
- Intel Core i7 gen2 2760QM 2.4GHz
- 17.3" Full HD 1980x1080 glossy
- Nvidia GTX 580 2GB
- Ram 16 GB DDR3 1600MHz
- HDD 750 GB
- Blu-ray combo (Blu-ray + DVD-RW)
- 2 USB 2.0 ports
- 2 USB 3.0 ports
- HDMI in and HDMI out port
- Windows 7 Home premium 64-bit
You know I bought this laptop from ebay USA, at first I bought it from fake seller anyway thank you paypal who save my money from that fake seller. Finally I got this one and cheaper than the first one.
I wanna recommend you that if you want to buy an electronic device, you have to find a lot of information or you can go to the shop to test it by yourself until you sure about it, that will make you happy with your new IT device.
Thank you.
